Job Description

B. Job Responsibilities

- Plan, organize and provide Aviation English courses to assist air traffic controllers in mastering verbal English skills that correlate with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) English proficiency standards.

- Plan, organize and provide General English courses to assist aviation professionals in mastering verbal and written English skills to demonstrate the best performance in international meetings and conferences.

- Provide a combination of interactive lectures, group problem solving, role playing exercises and practical exercises designed to air traffic control service

. – Build and maintain a professional relationship and positive rapport with all students and management staffs in Korean culture and create a positive learning environment to adequately communicate lessons. – Maintain accurate record keeping for daily attendance and student performance.

- Analyze, evaluate and feedback air traffic control voice recordings to the air traffic controllers for the quality improvement of air traffic control service.

- Conduct interviews air traffic controllers to measure their English skill in accordance with the ICAO English standard and adjust curriculum to improve learning quality as needed.

- English translation and documenting works related to international cooperation meetings and other additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

C. Qualification Requirement

a) Basic Requirements

- A person not applicable to Article 33 (Grounds for Disqualification) of the State Public Officials Act of Korea – A person who have Native or near-native English proficiency

- A person not having any disqualification factors for recruitment (criminal records, personal background screenings, etc.)

- A person who hold B.A or higher degree from accredited university in English speaking country – In the case of a foreigner, one who hold E-2 or F-2 Visa b) Preference given to applicants with

- A bachelor’s degree with aviation major or experience in Aviation industry (esp. air traffic control or pilot) – 3+ years of experience with communicative English teaching for adults with BA degree

- Diploma/Master’s degree in TESOL or Applied Linguistics from accredited university abroad – Experience as an interpreter or translator in international conference or government agency

- Korean-English bilingual

D. Working Conditions

- Contract status: Full time

- Contract period: 1 year from issue date** – Hours: 0900– 1800 weekdays

- Salary: approx. 4 million Korean won per month (including tax and insurance)

- Benefits: Full insurance, Paid holidays with severance pay   ** The contract can be extended by the year depending on the level of performance

b) Selection Procedure

1. The number of recruitment: 1 English instructor

2. 1st Round: Document screening* – Nov. 2nd, 2015 (Mon) ~ Nov. 6th, 2015 (Fri) * Only the candidates who pass the document screening will be contacted for the second round.

3. 2nd Round: English class assessment and job interview** – Nov. 9th, 2015 (Mon) ~ Nov. 13th, 2015 (Fri) ** Only the candidates who pass the second round will be contacted for the final round.

4. Final Round: The final interview – Nov. 16th, (Mon) ~ Nov. 20th, 2015 (Fri) 5. The announcement of successful candidate – Nov. 25th, 2015 (Wed) ~ – Only the candidates who pass the final will be contacted and notified at the homepage (http://acc.molit.go.kr) – The contract will be carried out in December, 2015.
